I Love Dirty Jobs!

The show, that is – although I have never had much trouble brining mud into the house.  But I digress.

TLC’s new show Dirty Jobs is AWESOME!  The host is a hoot and the content is intellectually stimulating, as well as being gross enough to keep my kids spellbound.

Check it out.  You will never flush with the same casual aplomb again.

Another blog!

Well, as if I didn’t have enough trouble keeping this one updated, I started a new one because...

I am a gourmet cook who constantly needs to diet.  I love to cook. I love to eat. I gain weight smelling Twinkies.

I also am very creative and have a lousy memory for my creations. So I decided to put them in a blog and let the blogosphere remember them for me – and maybe someone else will enjoy them as well.

Good eats.

And here I thought my kids’ behavior was confusing...

Gao Zhan, now 44 and mother of 3, is about to be deported to China where, she claims, she will be subjected to torture and killed.  Not too difficult to believe on the face of it, but what blows my brain is the sequence of her activities.

1989 – Flees China to US after participating in the Tiananmen Square uprisings. Looks good.
2000 – Goes on vacation back to China (Huh?) and is arrested (Duh!) and is released after the intervention of the SecState and President Bush.  Looks stupid, but still OK.
2003 – Pleads Guilty to selling, under an assumed name, $1 Million in classified computer technology to a Chinese firm with known ties to their military. Whoops, where did that come from.  Looks very bad! She confessed people.
2005 – ICE wants her deported instead of keeping her in US prison (Duh, again!).

Now she says, “I really did appreciate President Bush’s help and Secretary Powell’s mentioning of my case. But why are they silent now?”

In the words of my elementary school buddies “No Shit Sherlock!”  We bend over backwards to save you from your own apparent stupidity and in return you do what?  Sell technology to our biggest (IMHO) enemy?  Hello! Have a nice time in Peking, or Beijing, or whatever they want to call it.

How cool is this?

How cool is this?!?!?  I can now blog from Word.  I have my spell check as I type so I can be a perfectionist once more!

See?  It is working already! Another post in less than 24 hours.

I am an insomniac who loves to sleep.

So here I sit in the wee hours of the morning trying out new blog tools.  My wife just reminded me I have to go to work in less than 4 hours.  Maybe I can go to sleep now.

Holy Crap!

I just looked at my blog and realized I had a misspelling...

"I am a prefectionist..."

What a maroon.

More (Finally) Odd Mixes - or - On how we start again.

I am a procrastinator with little patience.
I am a prefectionist with a short attention span.
I am a fast thinker and a slow typist.

What do these ingredients make? A frustrating tendency to think of great things to blog and forget them before I have a chance to write them down. When I do get the time to write I get discouraged because I can't think of just the right thing to write right now. (wow, was that a righteous sentence, or what?) I like to blog, but wind up not blogging at all.

Well here's to a new year - already 6.5% gone - in which I will endeavor to pull my head out and keep this up to date. Maybe someone will read even it.
